PHOENIX – Today, Governor Katie Hobbs appointed Joseph W. Malka as the new Clerk of the Superior Court in Maricopa County. His effective date will be April 25, 2025.
Per Administrative Order No. 2025-051, Chief Deputy Nancy Rodriguez transitioned to Acting Clerk of the Superior Court in Maricopa County and will continue in that role until Mr. Malka assumes office.
In addition, per Administrative Order No. 2025-045, former Clerk of the Superior Court Jeff Fine’s official signature will continue to remain valid and appear on our official documents until they can be modified to reflect Mr. Malka’s name.
About Joseph W. Malka
Mr. Malka has a combined total of 27 years’ experience as a licensed attorney in both the private and public sectors and judicial officer, having served in various roles such as Interim Presiding Judge, Associate Judge, and Judge Pro Tem across multiple jurisdictions.
With his experience, Mr. Malka has valuable insight into court operations, case management, and the procedural aspects of judicial administration.
Additionally, Mr. Malka has served as a faculty member of the National Judicial College and as an editor for the Arizona Supreme Court Limited Jurisdiction Bench Book and Reference Manual, giving him an in-depth understanding of best practices in court administration.
Beyond his work experience, Mr. Malka has actively engaged in judicial training, mentoring, and community outreach through organizations such as the Maricopa and West Maricopa County Bar Associations, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), and the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA).
His leadership and experience on the bench and in Arizona’s legal community will be invaluable in guiding the Clerk’s Office as we continue to serve the community with integrity, transparency, and efficiency.
